Your first child is on the way and that is mega exciting. We can imagine that you have so many things to think about at once that you can’t see the wood for the trees. After all, you need to buy a few new things when you have a little one on the way. In this blog article, you will find 5 things you should not forget to get before your baby is born. This way you will have a good start together and your child will have everything it needs.

1.  For taking care of your baby

To be able to take good care of your baby, you need a complete maternity kit. In this kit, you will find all the products you need to give your baby the best care possible. We have listed the basic products you would normally find in a maternity kit for you, so you can check whether you have everything at home. 

• 6 flannel nappies

• 6 mouth towels

• 6 hydrophilic flannels

• 1 changing mat

• 2 changing mat covers

• 1 baby bath (with stand) or Tummy Tub (with stand)

• 1 bath thermometer

There are quite a few differences in the things you need when you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed. For instance, you will need the following for breastfeeding: 

• 2 nursing bras

• Lactation pads

• Feeding cushion

And for breastfeeding you will need: 

• 4 bottle teats (name newborn teats)

• 4 feeding bottles

• Bottle warmer

• 1 measuring jug with lid for night feeds

• 1 bottle racks 

• Infant milk of your choice, e.g. HIPP combiotik baby formula
