NBA 2K21 Presents The City, Exclusive For Next-gen Versions

2K today unveiled the City, the largest expansion of the NBA 2K21 community meeting point, a new that replaces the experience formerly known as The Neighborhood.

This ambitious open world comes to the next-gen version of NBA 2K21 and offers a much larger map, with skyscrapers, huge squares, a city center, and different districts controlled by rival Affiliations.

The City was announced in a spectacular trailer that shows all the content that this enormous metropolis has for the users.

The map of the City is huge, as this modern metropolis is made up of an uncountable number of buildings, green areas, and basketball courts that have different functions.

Rookieville welcomes newcomers, who will have to pass certain requirements before they can open the gates of the City, while the North, South, East, and West districts are home to each of the four Affiliations.

The new and futuristic Events Center, located in the heart of the city, will host the different special events and competitions between Affiliations. The Gatorade Gym has expanded its facilities to offer private courts, and now we have many more stores, with boutiques dedicated to each of the clothing brands present in the game and other establishments where you can find new types of objects.

For the first time, there will be non-playable characters (NPCs) in different parts of the City, who will give missions and objectives to the players, both to complete alone and in matches against other people.

Exploration will also play an important role since players will find baskets in some buildings, where they can freely shoot to warm up or challenge different types of matches and games (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or HORSE) to other players.

Undoubtedly, a contender has come up for the NBA MyTEAM mode that may be able to seduce even players who buy NBA 2K21 MT Coins, although more news for MyTEAM will surely be announced in the coming days.

Likewise, one of the great requests of the NBA 2K community was the return of the Affiliations, rival factions that will fight to dominate the City in NBA 2K21. Upon exiting Rookieville, players will be assigned to one of four existing Affiliations (North Side Knights, South City Vipers, Beasts of the East, or Western Wildcats), which they will represent in the City. The Affiliations will compete in different periodic events, and the winner will be crowned as the City Champion, which will bring not only prizes but also privileges when, for example, decorating her entire district.

Also, another mechanic that has been added is Mayors. Each Affiliation will be represented by a Mayor, who will influence the day-to-day life of the city. During their tenure, Mayors will be able to create videos to be shown at games to motivate players, set custom music playlists for their district, design nearby courts and areas, or choose kits for events.

Finally, hundreds of players will be able to coexist in The City at the same time, with the possibility of practicing dribbling while walking relaxed down the street with their group of friends, just as it happens in real life.
